Volunteer

It requires about 200 volunteers to host the bike relay.  Volunteers come from Whitehorse, Haines Junction, Haines, Juneau, Teslin and even one board member from Toronto!

It's volunteers that make this a great event.

 

Many volunteers are recruited by community non-profit groups that receive an honorarium for their group.  They also have transportation expenses subsidized and snacks provided.

 

Volunteers not associated with a community group will receive a small token of appreciation for their efforts.  This year's volunteers will be given a souvenir t-shirt and free ticket for the Saturday night dinner in Haines, AK.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE FOLLOWING TASKS!

 

1.  Riders for the Volunteer training night.  We will need some bike riders to help the volunteers practice the timing and traffic control procedures for checkpoints.  Riders can get a sneak preview of how the checkpoints are set up.  Bring your bike to the Mt Mac parking lot on Tuesday, June 8 at about 8:00 p.m.  It will take 1/2 hour to an hour.

 

2.  Volunteeers are needed to help with the race package preparation on Wednesday June 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Refreshments provided.
